Tweed Range Run to Salt Bar Beach Bistro - 1 Bells Blvd ‘Salt Village’, South Kingscliff NSW 2487 for Lunch
MEETING POINT
WINDERS PARK, Duringan St Currumbin (South end of park)
Aim to arrive before 10.30 for 11.00 departure
There is some covered seating there, public toilets and adjacent coffee shops to enable us to socialize and to obtain the briefing on the trip.
Directions for Meeting Point.
From Brisbane - turn off M1 at Exit 93 (Currumbin/Elanora) and left approx. 200m to large roundabout, then 3 rd exit , past school and over small bridge. Left at the intersection into Duringan St. First left entry to WINDERS Park.
For Gold Coasters - suggest GC highway through Palm Beach and turn right at lights before the big bridge over Currumbin Creek. Turn left at Roundabout past Currumbin school and then as above.
THE RUN:
Exit Park right onto Duringan St and thru lights straight out along Currumbin Creek Rd.
Approx 10ks Left onto Tomewin Mountain Rd (towards Murwillumbah). We then have approx. 30ks over the scenic and very windy ranges – with views out to Springbrook and Mt Warning, before reaching the Tweed lowlands.
We will do a roadside stop to enable all to bunch up once we are down to the flats.
Left onto Dulguigan Rd (nth Tumbulgum) for approx. 10ks then Left onto Dulguigan Rd (marked to Terranora) and almost immediately left at the T intersection over the small bridge and Left onto Riverside Drive and then Left again onto Tweed Valley Way for approx. 4kms.
Turn right onto Cudgen Road (marked Kingscliff/Tropical Fruit World)
After 2kms turn LEFT onto Cudgen Road (marked to Kingscliff) and follow for 5kms to lights – drive straight through passing new Tweed Hospital on the left.
1st roundabout, turn Right onto Cudgen Road
2nd on Right (approx. 1km along) turn onto Viking Road. Drive to end of road to a Tee-intersection (should see Ocean) – turn Right.
Proceed over Cudgen Creek bridge veering south on Casuarina Way for 2kms
Left at second roundabout to Bells Boulevard and straight thru towards beachfront and turn left to park at back of Salt Surf Life Saving Club building.
Aim to be there by 12.30.
Proceed to the MBCQ tables at the beachside of Salt Bar Seated areas. There is a choice of meals available so to browse menus go to www.saltbar.com.au
Everyone needs to order their own meals and drinks at the counter near entrance.
RETURN:
Best to take the reverse direction back to the Lights after new Hospital and turn right – approx. 3 k’s to large roundabout back up to M1
