Bundaberg Christmas Bush Bash Weekend  

Saturday 27^th November – Monday 29^th November 2021

This weekend is in conjunction with the Annual Wide Bay Christmas Lunch. For the sake of simplicity members are asked to contact Waverley Cameron (Mob: 0418 755 387) directly if they wish to make a reservation for the Sunday lunch. Terry and Geoff will NOT be involved with the Sunday Christmas lunch bookings. 

Apartments available: 3 bedroom (ocean view) – 2; 1 and 2 bedroom (ocean view) – 11; 1 and 2 bedroom (sunset view) – 9

Please Note: Members may wish to share the accommodation. Confirmed accommodation does not guarantee your attendance at the Wide Bay Christmas Lunch.Not everyone will be able to attend the Christmas Lunch and it will be at members’ expense.

Saturday 27^th November

Depart Morayfield via Kilcoy, Blackbutt, Nanango, Goomeri, Ban Ban Springs, Childers to Bargara

Approx. Distance: 450km  Approx Travel Time: 5.5 hours (excluding morning tea and lunch)

Meet at BP Roadhouse North Caboolture [UBD Map 58 L18] for an 8:15am departure. Head north on the Bruce Hwy taking the Caboolture exit signs for Kilcoy (8.6km). Continue on D’Aguilar Hwy (Route 85) passing through Kilcoy, Blackbutt and Yarraman. Continue through Yarraman on Burnett Hwy (A3) stopping at Nanango (BYO morning tea stop of 30 mins), continuing to Goomeri and Ban Ban Springs. At Ban Ban Springs, turn right onto Isis Hwy (A52) signs for Biggenden/Childers.

Lunch (1 hour) will be in Biggenden at members’ expense.

After lunch continue on the Isis Hwy (A52) for Childers. At Childers turn right on National Hwy A1 (signs for Maryborough). After 1.8km turn left onto Goodwood Rd (signs for Woodgate Beach). Continue for 50km to Bundaberg. In Bundaberg Goodwood Rd becomes Barolin St (2km). Turn right into Walker St which becomes Fe Walker St and continue onto Burnett Heads Rd (7.5km).  At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Bargara Rd/Bundaberg-Bargara Rd.  Continue to follow Bundaberg-Bargara Rd (approx. 6km). 

Time your arrival for approx. 4pm at your destination – The Point Resort,19 - 25 The Esplanade, Bargara QLD

5:00pm: BYO drinks and nibbles get together remembering social distancing followed by a BBQ dinner hosted by Graham Orr.  

Sunday 28^th November –Bundaberg

Poolside Breakfast – 8:30am – poolside

Morning – free time to enjoy Bargara

11:30am - Christmas Lunch – Rowers on the River, Bundaberg Rowing Club, 1 Toonburra St, Bundaberg Central

Afternoon – free time or visit an historical site eg the Hinkler Museum 

5:00pm: BYO drinks and nibbles get together remembering social distancing followed by a BBQ dinner hosted by Graham Orr. 

Monday 29^th November

Return to Brisbane or extend your stay in Bundaberg.

Accommodation at The Point Resort (prices do NOT include the Christmas Lunch):

1. One bedroom apartment (ocean view with full kitchen and laundry facilities) includes 2 nights’ accommodation, Saturday and Sunday night dinners and Sunday breakfast - $520/couple

2. Two bedroom apartment (ocean view with full kitchen and laundry facilities) includes 2 nights’ accommodation, Saturday and Sunday night dinners and Sunday breakfast - $710/2 couples sharing

3. Three bedroom apartment (ocean view with full kitchen and laundry facilities) includes 2 nights’ accommodation, Saturday and Sunday night dinners and Sunday breakfast - $920/3 couples sharing 

4. One bedroom apartment (sunset view with full kitchen and laundry facilities) includes 2 nights’ accommodation, Saturday and Sunday night dinners and Sunday breakfast - $490/couple

5. Two bedroom apartment (sunset view with full kitchen and laundry facilities) includes 2 nights’ accommodation, Saturday and Sunday night dinners and Sunday breakfast - $660/2 couples sharing

Local club members are encouraged to join us for the two dinners and Sunday breakfast. The cost will be $25/dinner/adult and $15/adult for Sunday breakfast.  If interested, please contact Terry Philip - details below.
